The incident occurred around 5:30 AM off the coast of Akyarlar, involving four family members, including two children. According to reports from Posta, the Iraqi mother was rescued by the crew of a nearby motor yacht. The father and both daughters were initially reported missing.
Search and Recovery Efforts
Following the capsizing, the Coast Guard launched a search and rescue operation both at sea and from the air. During the search, a girl’s lifeless body was discovered floating near the island of Kos, prompting further investigations. Authorities confirmed that this child was one of the missing daughters. The search for the father and the other daughter continues, with teams actively scouring the area.
