Bodrum Municipality Opens Free Swimming Courses for Children This July
The July stage of Bodrum Municipality's free summer swimming programme is now under way for children aged 5 to 13. The courses run in two stages across the summer, and the municipality aims to reach around 1,000 children in total this year.
The programme is organised by the Directorate of Operations and Subsidiaries and is delivered entirely through municipal resources - instructors and lifeguards employed by the municipality, with no outside contractors involved.
August Applications Open 15 July
Parents interested in the second stage, scheduled for August, can submit applications from 15 July. The July stage is already in progress, so the August window is the remaining opportunity for families who missed the first round.

One practical detail worth knowing: parents are not permitted inside the pool area during lessons. The municipality says this helps children concentrate. Instead, a waiting area is set up with screens connected to cameras positioned around the pool, so parents can follow sessions in real time without being poolside.
Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Ozsert commented on the courses on behalf of the municipality, though the full text of his remarks was not included in the published announcement.
